Classes are limited to only 6 students per instructor to insure proper hands on training.

Lodging is not included in the tuition fee, but is available within reasonable distance from class locations.  We now offer RV hook-up, so if you would like to stay on site, please contact the office for details.

CLASS ITINERARY

 

  •  Reading & Understanding equine behavior & language – being able to translate what you feel and see into human terms.

 

  • Equine body positioning & safety – How to position yourself and the horse to keep everyone safe.
  •  Equine  Anatomy & Physiology– The background of equine massage, anatomy of the equine systems, and cycle of injury and recovery.
  • Equine muscle groups, functions, and origins – You will learn muscles, how they work, and their origins.

 

  • How to locate equine muscle & skeletal issues – How to tell if the pain a horse is experiencing is muscle and/or skeletal related.

 

  • Diseases, disorders, & illnesses – Learn various diseases that we can improve the function through a series of equine massage therapy.
  • Proper massage strokes & sequence - You will learn various massage strokes, when they are used, and proper massage strokes.
  • Charting – Filling out proper paperwork, charts, logs, etc...
  •  Business practices- The legalities of the business
  •  Basics of saddle fitting – Positioning of the English/western saddle.  Various tree sizes, etc.
  •  Equine rehabilitation therapies – How to improve the overall physical condition of horses with debilitating diseases and how to maintain them once the pain is managed.
  •  Marketing – If you are looking to get into business in the equine industry, this class is important!  This class will teach you the steps to a successful career!
